Well, I'm getting ready to take my son out to find a copy of the new Harry Potter book. I was not about to wait in line last night at midnight. (I used to work in a book store, I know how crazy it gets). Did anybody go out at 12:01 am?

No, but my wife went out at 7:00 am this morning to grab her copy.

My son was begging me to go to our local grocery store at 12:01 am to get it. They had it advertised right next to the bananas and the Doritos. God, you know you've made it when even the Kroger is using you to bring in customers. I managed to persuade him that 9am this morning was early enough. Then, when we get to the store, we find that their truck is running late and they don't have the book.
Oh, the look of sadness and disappointment in those young eyes.
I did get over to our local Costco, however, and they had a whole pallet of them. So I'm out of the doghouse with my 10 yr old. LOL

I hang my head in shame to say that I haven't read any of them... I am waiting for the series to end before I begin. That way I will have a sense of 'discovery' without the hype.

I am waiting for the series to end before I begin. I'm the same way. That's also why I haven't read any of Stephen King's Dark Tower books. Now that he's done with the series, I'm just trying to find the time to get started reading it.

I have every book and movie that is available. I am re reading the series because I skipped though the whole series. I also read the 5th book in a month and so it felt like forever until the 6th book came out in stores.
