Got this info and thought I should pass it along. ;D
Nancy Pickard and Todd Stone will be featured speakers at WritersFest 2007:
Concept to Contract—How to Write and Sell Your Book from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Chesterfield. The day long seminar is presented by the Greater St. Louis Chapter of Sisters in Crime in partnership with Chesterfield Writers Guild, a program of Chesterfield Arts. The seminar is suitable for writers at all
career levels.
Stone’s portion of the workshop provides specific techniques to more confidently build compelling characters, drive plot from character, blast through writer’s block, craft dynamic dialog and more. Pickard will lead an intensive hands-on session to teach writers a way to focus and improve writing and rewriting. An evening session with local authors will offer a variety of methods to achieve publication.
The cost of the seminar is $85 with discounts for members of Sisters in Crime and Chesterfield Arts registered before Sept. 4. That includes two meals, resource material, and two books: Stone’s Novelist’s Boot Camp and
Pickard’s Seven Steps on the Writer’s Path.
Sisters in Crime is a group of local mystery authors, writers and fans. The national organization is twenty years old and was founded to combat discrimination against women in the mystery field.
Chesterfield Arts is a non-profit community arts agency, founded in 1995 with the aim of stimulating arts within City of Chesterfield and the West County area.
