(metallic vocoder voice) MORE THAN MEETS THE EYYYYYYYYYEEE!
has anyone seen it yet?
well, i saw it yesterday, after buying a ticket on the 4th, and seeing the line and throwwing in the towel.
i will say this...i dont think there has ever been, will ever be, or COULD ever exist a movie concept more perfectly suited to the talents (choke...sputter) of michael bay than a bunch of fighting gigantic robots.
i wont do a review now, b/c honestly i cant really figure out a way to put he experience into words, but i think if you grew up with them, you will absolutely have one of those near tears of joy experiences when you see bumblebee in robot form for the 1st time. and you hear optimus primes voice...
i will say this...see it in a theatre. you have to. dont wait for this one to come on dvd. you need to HEAR this film in a big theatre w/BIG speakers. sit as close as you can, and you might get the feeling i had when watching it...that of an amusement park ride.
it is probably one of the 1st films this summer that delivers what it advertises, which does not mean that it is a great film. it does have mr bay's flaws as well...
i will wait for mike to review it, unless he would rather i do it, but i do recommend it, esp to anyone who grew up w/the characters. i can imagine it will really work form you ...and i wish i had gotten that feeling for MY hroes i had growing up (ahem...godzilla...ahem)
if you are an 8-15 yr old, you will love it...seriously, it will probably cause more 8-15 yr olds to want to make movies than any movie since star wars.
for the rest of us...well, you wont be bored, and that is no small assurance. cant say the same for some of the movies this summer...so i can recommend it, if only to see and especially HEAr that final battle. it really is extraordinary
