specifically, best horror related stuff from the last year?
i will weigh in later, but i think, for me, the descent was the best horror film i saw, and one of the top 10, if not top 5, for me this year.
horror novels...well, it wasnt released this year, but i just got around to reading it, so for me, the wide game tops that list. i also loved brian keene's zombie novels, and i am really looking forward to ghoul.
as for tv, i would say that 1st episode of nightmares and dreamscapes was some of the best tv, and infact one of the best short films i have EVER seen.
anyone else? like i said, i will get some more detail in later, and maybe try and think about a list, but i am a fan of reflective lists type things, so i would love to see what other folks thought about the year that was...

Movie wise, The Descent tops the list. I also liked Hostel and SAW III quite a bit. Monster House was also widely entertaining, funny, creepy, and scary. And while it may be 13 years old, I really enjoyed seeing Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas get the 3-D treatment.
Books: Brian Keene's The Rising, Tim Lebbon's Berserk, and J. F. Gonzalez's Survivor. Survivor is one of the most shocking, disturbing, and draining books I have ever read in my life, and the only book in many a year to make me shed tears.
Television: "Battleground" from Nightmares and Dreamscapes was wonderful television. I also liked Supernatural, although I haven't had a chance to watch much of this season.

I need to ammend my movie list. Attended a press screening for Pan's Labyrinth last night. Not only the best movie made in 2006, but one of the best in recent memory! Simply amazing. A full review will be posted soon. ;D
