so, i saw it...
and you want to know if its any good, and whether you should see it...and as with almost all films, it will sort of depend on what you think of it before you go in. if you think the very notion of snakes being on a plane, let alone there being a movie that just lays its cards on the table right up front is pure genius, you'll more than likely dig it. if, on the other hand, you think its silly, then you'll think the film is silly.
i'll skip rehashing the specifics of the plot. and anyway, you know it. nevermind why there are snakes on the plane. they are there. there is a reason, of course, as well as a reason for them to be so aggressive. they actually do broach the silliness a couple times, and you get a sense they know exactly what they are u to.
the acting, as will happen in your b-movie, is bad on occasion. there is some weak dialogue. but lets be honest...you arent going to snakes on a plane for character development. you are going to see snakes charging peope and biting them...and honestly, it could lose some running time...namely, the 30-40 minutes it takes for the snakes to run loose. I domt care about the flimsy plot...make it flimsier, frankly, and spend more time having people fight snakes...more snakes!
if it had to have a plot, i suppose, the one itself makes as much sense as any...i frankly was amazed at how well it came together...and as a screenwriter, well, that's no small job.
i dont feel like there is a lot i can add, honestly...this thing has a life of its own. i saw it. it was fun, but you get the sense that the experience of watching it is less than the sum of its parts...if its something down your alley, enjoy it...go have fun. i would think its going t end up being pretty harmless, in gthe long run, and for something that really will end up being just a cog in a larger phenomenon. as a movie, its a bit silly, if fun, and if you take a lot of time to think about it, its probably going to come apart under the scrutiny, but why would you want to do that? if nothing else, it strikes a blow against the whole PG-13 phenomenion in horror movies (although, yeah, not a horror movie, per se...but not too far off the pantone sheet), and it proves execs were wrong trying to weasel out of their decisions and water this thing down. Panam flight 121 or whatever? why would you call it that? have the cpurage to be what you are.you cant be all things to all people, so stop tryinhg to be...,
its a lesson that i wish a lot more people would take to heart! and for that, i commend snakes on a plane, and its over the top, r-rated ass!
